VTL Invests in Large-Scale Future Project VTL Next
27. April 2020InnoTrans will now take place from April 27 to 30, 2021
28. April 202016 road transport associations from the EU urge the European Parliament to urgently approve the completion of the legislative process for Mobility Package 1. It is about fairer competition among road transport companies in the EU.
(Brussels/Frankfurt) The demand in verbatim:
We, the transport associations from: FNTR (France), BGL (Germany), NLA (Nordic States) DTL, ITD (both Denmark), SA (Sweden), NLF (Norway), Fin Mobility (Finland), CESMAD Bohemia (Czech Republic), CESMAD Slovakia (Slovakia), TLN (Netherlands), CONFTRASPORTO, FAI (both Italy), ASTIC, CETM (both Spain) and ANTRAM (Portugal) urgently demand the completion of the legislative process for Mobility Package 1.
After three years of legislative work, the package is awaiting final approval in the European Parliament. It is now essential that the members also put an end to the
distortions of competition in the European road transport market with many different approaches from the member states. The package will ensure a better harmonized European framework, more efficient competitive conditions, and fairer competition among road transport companies in the EU.
We can no longer afford to let more time pass while other major challenges such as digitalization, clean energy, and clean transport lie ahead of us! The current COVID-19 crisis is even more reason to adopt Mobility Package 1 to ensure clarity and harmonized rules for road freight transport in Europe.
The current crisis clearly shows that well-functioning markets for domestic freight transport are just as necessary as cross-border transport to maintain the logistics chain and guarantee the supply of our population.
