(Kempten) The 54-year-old Swiss was most recently responsible as CFO for the finances of the publicly listed logistics service provider Panalpina. In this role, he also accompanied the merger with the Danish logistics company DSV. During his time at Panalpina, he successfully completed various acquisition projects alongside two significant SAP implementations and the associated organizational changes, thereby supporting the company’s global growth strategy. Erni began his career at the logistics company Kühne+Nagel, where he was responsible for global controlling at the company’s headquarters after international assignments in Hong Kong, India, Argentina, and the USA.
“Robert Erni is an extremely experienced CFO with over 30 years of professional experience in the logistics industry,” explains Burkhard Eling, CFO of Dachser, who will transition to the position of CEO on January 1, 2021. “We are pleased to have him on board as part of our new executive team and to address future challenges in a value- and growth-oriented manner together with him.”
“In the family-owned company Dachser, the CFO must master far more than just the business figures: He is in intense exchange with the shareholders, he significantly shapes the strategy process and thus also the operational business,” explains Bernhard Simon, CEO of Dachser, who will take over as chairman of the company’s supervisory board in 2021. “With Robert Erni, we have found a CFO who can fully assume this role starting January 1, 2021.”
