8. July 2020The parcel service provider Quickpac, a division of Quickmail AG, transported 800,000 packages in the first half of the year and created 60 new jobs. Additionally, 75 more electric cars were ordered. Despite the increase in volume, quality was maintained.
(St. Gallen) Quickpac, the new division of Quickmail AG for parcel delivery, doubled the number of packages transported from 400,000 in the second half of 2019 to 800,000 in the first half of 2020. The number of additional jobs created also increased significantly. 75 additional electric cars were ordered.
As of January 1, Quickpac employed the equivalent of 62 full-time delivery personnel in its two depots in Hägendorf and Winterthur. By July 1, this number has now risen to 128.
Despite the significant increase in package volume, especially during the Corona crisis, the delivery times were maintained at a very high level. “On average, in the first half of 2020, we were able to successfully complete the first delivery attempt in less than 24 hours. Even in March, when Quickpac also experienced a rapid increase in package volume, packages were delivered on average after 1.3 days. We believe that no other parcel service provider has achieved this,” says Quickpac CEO Bernard Germanier, pleased with the results.
Large share of SameDay deliveries
27% of the packages were delivered on the same day they were sent: “We have proven that SameDay is already feasible today, not only in some large cities but also in rural areas and at affordable prices.” Germanier points out that the Corona crisis has shown how important free choice in the postal market is and that the supply of the population is by no means guaranteed by just one provider.
Germanier announces that Quickpac aims to continue growing in the second half of the year. The parcel service provider has just ordered 75 more electric cars. Quickpac will thus further expand its lead as the Swiss company with the largest fleet of electric vehicles.
