21. July 2020The mobility service provider DKV Mobility is driving the development of the largest e-charging network in Europe. A strong focus is placed on alternative fuels and digitalization. In this context, Marc Erkens has been appointed as Head of Sustainability & New Mobility.
(Ratingen) The mobility service provider DKV Mobility recently presented its sustainability report, which can be downloaded from the company website. It covers the areas of action: market, environment, employees, and society, and was first aligned with the internationally recognized GRI standard. The mobility service provider is also strategically and organizationally setting the course for sustainability. Development of the largest e-charging network in Europe. Since the founding of Charge4Europe – the joint venture of innogy and DKV – DKV Mobility has been consistently driving the establishment of the largest charging network for electric and hybrid vehicles in Europe. Currently, the supply network for electric vehicles already includes 80,000 charging points, and it is set to expand to over 120,000 charging points by the end of 2020.
Charging Points at Home and Work
In addition to public charging points, the mobility service provider offers products and services for charging at home (@home) and at the workplace (@work). Strong focus on alternative fuels and digitalization. DKV connects 5,000 gas stations annually and places a strong emphasis on multi-energy gas stations that offer alternative fuels such as LNG in addition to conventional fuels. The company also focuses on digitalization: In June 2020, DKV LIVE launched a comprehensive telematics system with a powerful digital platform designed to support transport companies in reducing their CO2 consumption through energy-efficient driving, economical fuel management, and transparency along the supply chain through Track&Trace and Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) services. Internally, DKV has firmly anchored the topic of sustainability: As of September 1, 2020, Marc Erkens will take on the newly created position of Head of Sustainability & New Mobility. Together with the management, he will promote the topic of sustainability both internally and externally and consistently advance DKV’s ambition to be a “Lead in Green” – i.e., the leading provider of sustainable products within its industry.
