Jul 30, 2020 at 7:05 AMneska Mannheim is building a warehouse and distribution center in Ladenburg and has secured BASF’s ‘Colors & Effects®’ as an anchor customer. The groundbreaking ceremony recently took place, with the inauguration planned for spring 2021. The total area is 50,000 m2, with 20,000 m2 allocated for ‘Colors & Effects®’.
(Mannheim/Ladenburg) “We are very pleased to have convinced Colors & Effects®, the BASF subsidiary focused on the global pigment business, of our service offerings. We are proud to collaborate as partners on this project despite strong competition,” said Alen Petrusic, site manager of neska Mannheim, at the recent groundbreaking ceremony for the distribution center in Ladenburg. The contract between neska and C&E has a duration of seven years.
The decision is groundbreaking for both partners: neska Mannheim is making a sustainable investment in the future with the construction of the facility. Instead of operating at six different locations in the Rhine-Neckar region, neska’s services will be consolidated in the three newly built halls in Ladenburg, covering a total area of 50,000 square meters. The buildings will feature state-of-the-art shelving storage. 20,000 square meters of the area are designated for Colors & Effects®. The completion of the facilities is planned for spring 2021.
Further Investments Planned
The BASF brand Colors & Effects® represents one of the leading manufacturers of color and effect pigments. By choosing Ladenburg, the company is optimizing its distribution structure. The finished goods warehouse, specifically designed to meet customer needs, enables a highly flexible warehousing and delivery service.
The construction of the halls is expected to lead to further investments at the neska location in Mannheim. “C&E’s decision for us proves: Our team in Mannheim has been doing excellent work for many years, consistently providing high quality to customers and continuously developing. We will continue to invest significantly in the infrastructure and modernity of the facilities to meet the increasing demands in the future,” said neska managing director Stefan Hütten. For him, the reorganization at the Mannheim site is exemplary for the entire neska Group: “We offer the full range of modern logistics services. Our solutions for transport, storage, handling, picking, packaging, and shipping are economical, sustainable, and resource-efficient.”
