(Ratingen/Rome) On September 1, 2020, DKV Euro Service will start the pilot phase for its toll boxes in Italy. After the approximately three-month productive pilot phase with up to 3,000 test boxes, the mobility service provider will be the first certified provider of its own toll boxes for Italian highways. The Italian highway operators had already given their approval in advance. Initially, the DKV Box Italia will be approved, and in the near future, the DKV Box Europe as well.
“With this step, we are opening the Italian toll market and can offer our customers as the first certified provider their own on-board units for vehicles over 3.5 tons,” says Jérôme Lejeune, Managing Director of Toll at DKV Euro Service. “We thank the Association of Italian Highway Operators, AISCAT, and look forward to a successful collaboration.” For the use of the DKV toll boxes, the Italian toll stations have been upgraded with the necessary software and hardware. Specially marked toll lanes indicate to the driver on which lane the DKV Box Italia and in the future also the DKV Box Europe can be used.
