19. August 2020The Future Congress Logistics, which usually takes place in Dortmund, can only be held digitally this year. However, the event organized by Fraunhofer IML and the Digital Hub Logistics will also feature high-profile guests online, including Federal Minister of Transport Andreas Scheuer.
(Dortmund) Due to the Corona pandemic, the “Future Congress Logistics – 38th Dortmund Talks” organized jointly by Fraunhofer IML and the Digital Hub Logistics will take place for the first time in digital form from September 15 to 17, 2020. Under the motto “From Revolution to Transformation – With Artificial Intelligence into the Silicon Economy”, high-profile speakers await the congress participants: including Federal Minister of Transport Andreas Scheuer, BDI President Dieter Kempf, and Felix Fiege, CEO of Fiege Logistics. The complete program is now online and registration is open.
In addition to the digital format, further innovations await the congress participants: To follow the congress via live stream, only registration is necessary, and participation is free of charge. With this, the organizers aim to make a small contribution to alleviating the burdened economy. Furthermore, the congress will take place for the first time over three days instead of two. The otherwise parallel thematic sequences of the second congress day will now extend over two days due to the digital format and will take place consecutively. This gives each congress participant the opportunity to follow all sequences if interested.
From Revolution to Transformation
The “Future Congress Logistics – 38th Dortmund Talks” is this year under the motto “From Revolution to Transformation – With Artificial Intelligence into the Silicon Economy”. The focus is on the transformation of the economy into a digital platform economy: the Silicon Economy. The lectures will revolve around highly relevant trends such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchains, Machine Learning, and Autonomous Driving. In live tours through the research halls of the institute, congress participants will also gain insight into the latest technologies that the scientists at Fraunhofer IML are currently working on.
The start-up competition “Digital Logistics Award” is also part of the program again. Several founding teams will compete in a pitch session for prize money totaling 24,000 euros. With 32 applicants from 13 countries, the award is more international than ever before.
The Congress
For more than 39 years, leading representatives from science and industry from all over Germany have been meeting at the Future Congress Logistics in Dortmund, looking towards the future of logistics.
