Sep 3, 2020 at 10:38 AMDue to school holidays, several young people have once again started their training in various professions within logistics in September. Representing many other training companies, here are the trainees from Gebr. Weiss AG in Austria (also Germany and Switzerland) and the companies Craiss, Güttler, ITG, and Schuon in Germany.
Gebr. Weiss
(Lauterach) 71 young women and men are beginning their training at the international transport and logistics company Gebrüder Weiss in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. This allows the company to maintain the number of apprentices at a consistently high level despite the Corona crisis. Last year, 72 apprentices started.
The company’s online learning platform “myOrangeCollege” became an even more important part of knowledge transfer at Gebrüder Weiss during the phase of extensive contact restrictions due to Covid-19. Training content can be conveyed digitally, individually, and at different speeds. “Training requires flexibility and initiative in these times. However, our apprentices in their second and third years have mastered these requirements with flying colors in recent months. The new apprentices will also succeed, whom we warmly welcome to the Orange Family,” summarizes Monika Mandl.

Craiss
(Mühlacker) In a smaller group than usual, the trainees of Albert Craiss GmbH & Co. KG started their vocational training yesterday. Only two aspiring merchants for forwarding and logistics services and one dual student for forwarding, transport, and logistics are beginning their careers this autumn with the internationally active logistics expert. Despite having plenty of applications, Craiss decided to actively reduce the number of apprentices due to the current legal contact restrictions to contain the Corona pandemic. However, the newcomers did not have to miss out on a classic introduction day, including a company tour.

Güttler
Hof (Saale), September 1, 2020 – Güttler Logistik GmbH welcomed its five new apprentices today at its headquarters in Hof (Saale). In addition to two professional drivers and one merchant for forwarding and logistics services, a logistics expert and a logistics specialist are also starting their careers with the Upper Franconian transport company. The training concept developed by Güttler and awarded by VerkehrsRundschau for the logistics expert includes two full-fledged training programs in a shortened training period of four years: one for warehouse specialists and one for professional drivers.

ITG
(Schwaig) Even under more difficult conditions, ITG remains committed to its strategy of training its own young talent. This autumn, a total of 27 young people have started their professional lives, whether through traditional training or dual studies.
Logistics professionals know how important their daily work is for everyone. With the Corona pandemic, this awareness has also become clear to large parts of the population. However, too few people know that logistics is an exciting and promising field of work. At least 27 young people have been convinced by ITG: they have now begun their training or dual studies. This allows the company to continue its strategy of training its own young talent without restrictions and to introduce them to the exciting world of logistics.
On September 1, 23 new apprentices and one dual student began at the ITG corporate headquarters in Schwaig, located directly at Munich Airport, and one apprentice in Stuttgart; previously, two apprentices had already started their professional lives in Hamburg on August 3.
Overall, ITG trains at eight locations in six professions, including a new training program for merchants in e-commerce starting September 1. Additionally, dual study programs are offered in three fields of study.

Kukla

Even though everything is different this year, everyone was motivated and welcomed by the management and trainers. Equipped with school cones and after a tour, everyone finally got to work!

Schuon
(Haiterbach) Alfred Schuon GmbH welcomed nine apprentices and one dual student today. Ten professionals are now growing within the family-owned company based in Haiterbach: one merchant for office management, two female merchants for forwarding and logistics services, two logistics specialists, two professional drivers, and one automotive mechatronics technician. Additionally, Schuon is training a dual student in business administration with a focus on forwarding, transport, and logistics, as well as one apprentice who is completing both a training program as a warehouse specialist and as a professional driver in the award-winning 2plus2 model. Due to the coronavirus, special precautions had to be taken this year.
