3. September 2020sennder and JITpay™ Accelerate Payment Processes
3. September 2020Leopold Schäfer GmbH, a CargoLine partner, is introducing the telematics solution TISLOG, initially in local transport, with long-distance transport to follow. The existing scanners will be replaced step by step as needed. An interface to the existing freight forwarding software has been established.
Bocholt, September 1, 2020 – Leopold Schäfer GmbH is now using the mobile telematics solution TISLOG from TIS for digital order and fleet management in local transport. The partner of the medium-sized cooperation CargoLine is replacing an older system, whose operating system Windows Mobile is no longer being developed or supported. The existing scanners will be gradually replaced with new Honeywell EDA51 devices as needed, allowing investment costs to be spread over a longer period. The trucks operating in long-distance transport are also to be equipped with TISLOG.
“We had to put our telematics system on a future-proof basis, which is why we chose the Android-based solution TISLOG,” explains project manager Mario Walter, for whom quality and good experiences in collaboration also played a role. “We have been relying on a mobile scanner solution from TIS for several years in warehouse handling and are extremely satisfied with the very customer-oriented, fast, and friendly service,” emphasizes Walter.
Old Windows scanners will be gradually replaced
The old Windows scanners of the approximately 50 local transport drivers will be gradually exchanged for Android devices equipped with the TISLOG app. With the telematics app developed by TIS, drivers are guided through the entire pick-up and delivery process, from navigation to paperless delivery receipts. Additionally, the software offers many new features that are now being integrated into the processes at Leopold Schäfer GmbH. This includes, for example, the integrated photo function for documenting the damage-free and contactless delivery of goods at the agreed location. In light of the Corona pandemic, many customers have granted a delivery authorization, with the images created with the scanner serving as a digital delivery receipt.
For the dispatchers, the transition to TISLOG was almost imperceptible. This is ensured by an interface to the freight forwarding software Komalog from Transdata used at Leopold Schäfer. Through the integration, employees can directly retrieve current information on shipment status and tour progress via Komalog. The interface also optimizes loading at Schäfer, as the data from the loading lists is now sent to the drivers’ scanners in near real-time.
