(Rheine) The Dachser logistics center in Rheine is creating more space for storage and value-added services. A new distribution center is currently being built near the company location, which will be operational in October 2020. The centerpiece of the facility on Sandkampstraße is a logistics hall measuring 20,800 square meters with 26 truck gates and up to 36,800 pallet spaces. Additionally, there are office spaces of approximately 1,200 square meters.
In the new, modern facility, Dachser Rheine is consolidating existing storage locations in the area and providing additional capacity for future growth. This optimizes traffic flows and production conditions. The new distribution center will serve customers from various industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, the DIY sector, and textile retail. In addition to goods storage, order picking, and shipping of goods, employees provide additional services based on customer requirements, such as display construction, repackaging, special labeling, assembly work, and handling of returns.
“In the warehousing sector, we are seeing further growth and increasing demand in the region,” says Markus Dodt, General Manager of the Dachser logistics center in Rheine. “Rheine and the Münsterland region, with their strong economy, availability of qualified labor, and favorable transport connections, are an ideal location for integrated logistics services.”
Dachser has been present in Rheine since 1990 and currently employs 390 people there. Of these, 60 employees will work at the new location in the future. In the medium term, an additional 60 jobs will be created there.
