Oct 8, 2020 at 7:59 PMBTK Befrachtungs- und Transportkontor GmbH takes over the logistics for Cola Mix in cans for Flötzinger Bräu in Rosenheim. BTK in Raubling stores and picks the product and also handles distribution. Flötzinger aims to launch the Cola-Mix nationwide in Germany in the long term.
(Rosenheim/Raubling) Every child knows Spezi. In Rosenheim, Flötzinger’s Cola Mix is legendary. Now the regional brewery is launching the cult drink in 0.33-liter cans. As a logistics partner, BTK Befrachtungs- und Transportkontor GmbH supports the market launch with warehousing, picking, and shipping management.
With an initial filling as a pilot project in retail, BTK has stored four full loads with around 250,000 Cola-Mix cans on 105 pallets. Upon request, the 24-pack units are repacked from the Euro pallet onto reusable, CO2-neutral CHEP quarter pallets for retail and wrapped in foil. Perfectly stacked and securely wrapped for a wholesaler, a quarter of the load had already left the logistics center in Nicklheim after just one week.
Traditional Drink Now in Cans
“I have known Flötzinger’s Cola-Mix for a long time. In our region, it is the cult drink of our childhood. We are pleased to support the brewery on its new distribution path with logistics services as a regional partner,” says Josef Heiß, Managing Director of BTK. Upon request, BTK delivers up to four via piece goods service providers and more than five of the retail-ready quarter pallets itself.
Flötzinger wants to bring the Cola-Mix in recyclable deposit cans for takeout nationwide to retail. During the pilot phase, the sales team gradually calls off the goods from BTK. Currently, twenty pallet spaces are still occupied. After the successful product launch, BTK can handle larger quantities with semi-automated and IT-supported logistics processes, including shipping management.
Experience in Beverage Transport
BTK is an expert in supply chains in retail. It generates about half of its revenue in the transport logistics business area in the retail market segment, focusing on hygiene paper, food, and beverages. It has joined the regional initiative Ökoprofit and was awarded the “Lean & Green” certificate by GS1 Germany for achieving a 20 percent reduction in CO2 emissions over five years by 2022.
