15. October 2020The Dutch headquarters of Rhenus Contract Logistics B.V. in Tilburg, also known as The Tube, has won the National Steel Award in the ‘Industrial Construction’ category. In collaboration with the Dutch construction company DOKVAST, the innovative and sustainable building was created.
(Tilburg, Netherlands) – The National Steel Award has been in existence since 1971 and honors the inspiring use of steel in construction, renovation, or remodeling projects in the Netherlands. The jury nominates projects in five categories: commercial construction, industrial construction, residential construction, infrastructure, and characteristic steel components.
Since 2012, Rhenus has been collaborating with the Dutch construction company DOKVAST to build intelligent, innovative, and sustainable buildings. The companies share the common belief that functionality, feasibility, comfort, and aesthetics are paramount.
Building as a Landmark for Sustainability and Design
Alphons van Erven, Senior Vice President of Rhenus Contract Logistics, says: “The award is a recognition of the collaboration between Heembouw, Reijrink Staalconstructie, Pelecon Structural Engineers, DOKVAST, and Rhenus. Together, with the vision of architect Hung from Habeon Architecten, we were able to realize a building that has become a landmark for sustainability and design both in the Netherlands and abroad.”
