Now six out of ten logistics documents are machine-readable
20. October 2020Record in Pandemic Times: DPD is Prepared for the Peak Parcel Season
20. October 2020To create additional capacities during the peak season in autumn, the logistics service provider DACHSER is once again offering a premium rotation flight between Asia and Europe. Starting mid-October, the charter will operate once a week on the route Frankfurt – Shanghai – Frankfurt.
(Kempten) – As production gradually recovers and the demand for air freight increases month by month, while there is still insufficient cargo space due to reduced passenger flight volumes, the team at DACHSER Air & Sea Logistics expects a strong peak season in the fourth quarter of the year with high demand for air freight capacities.
Peak Season from Mid-October to December
“We anticipate that the peak season in air freight will mainly focus on trade from Asia, particularly from China and Hong Kong,” says Timo Stroh, Head of Global Air Freight at DACHSER. “Especially from Asia, where the industry is picking up speed again, we expect a peak season from mid-October to December.” To meet this market demand, DACHSER is also offering a dedicated premium charter this autumn. A Boeing 747-400 will operate as a full charter once a week between Frankfurt and Shanghai in China starting mid-October. Through the Frankfurt Import Gateway, DACHSER will handle the distribution across Europe.
Premium Product Under Current Market Conditions
DACHSER Air & Sea Logistics is now conducting the project for the third time. Fixed transit times allow customers to plan and make the service reliable. By combining DACHSER’s road and air & sea logistics network, the logistics service provider can quickly respond to changing traffic situations in Europe and accelerate pick-up and delivery processes. “With this global network capability, we are well-equipped for the challenges of the ‘New Normal’ and can offer our customers a robust and reliable capacity solution under the current market conditions,” says Timo Stroh.
