25. October 2020New Concept for the FRUIT LOGISTICA SPECIAL EDITION 2021
26. October 2020MediaPrint Newspaper and Magazine Publishing GmbH & Co KG, Austria’s largest print media house, invests in Europe’s leading digital mail provider hpc DUAL Österreich GmbH, thereby complementing its broad portfolio.
(Vienna) – The company hpc DUAL has revolutionized the sending and receiving of documents with its specially developed software “BriefButler” and aims to become a strong alternative to the Austrian Post in the area of mail delivery in the coming years. Since 2006, the team has been intensively engaged in the digitization of physical mail delivery for administration and business.
Digital Mail Delivery as a Future Business
“We are investing in the promising company hpc DUAL to further enhance our digital portfolio and actively bring our expertise in logistics into the digitized mail delivery. As the largest Austrian print media house, it is in our DNA to advance future technologies and to bundle synergies across industries,” says MediaPrint CEO Christoph Niemöller with enthusiasm.
Spatially and Temporally Independent Delivery Becomes Possible
With the new technology of BriefButler, recipients can receive official documents as well as conventional mail spatially and temporally independently and manage them digitally. This makes digital mail delivery more efficient, faster, safer, and cheaper for the sender than traditional mail. If the recipient is not reachable digitally, the letter is automatically printed, enveloped, and sent by post. “The current volume of around 18 billion letters in the DACH region is decreasing by about ten percent annually, while postal costs are steadily rising.Replacing Physical Delivery with Digital DeliveryThrough the investment and expertise of MediaPrint, we will replace physical delivery with digital delivery in the coming years and thereby revolutionize mail delivery,” says shareholder and managing director Josef Schneider. With BriefButler, the share of digital mailings will increase significantly, as already this year over a quarter of all mailings from Austrian municipalities will be delivered digitally. Furthermore, transparency and legal certainty are prioritized, and digitally created documents are also delivered legally valid in digital form. This is reflected in a seamlessly documented and legally valid delivery process. Additionally, digital delivery is certificate-based and therefore resistant to spam and phishing. The verifiable collection of documents occurs via TAN procedure, mobile signature, or electronic ID.
Impressive CO2 Savings Possible
With the BriefButler system, up to 77% of CO2 emissions can be saved compared to traditional postal delivery. “Due to increasing mobility and demographic change, but especially due to a high awareness of climate protection and sustainability among the Austrian population, it is a logical strategic step to invest in digitized mail delivery and to act as a logistics partner in the future,” says MediaPrint CEO Dipl.-BW Christoph Niemöller.
