Oct 29, 2020 at 6:00 PMThe mobility service provider DKV EURO SERVICE GmbH + Co. KG has today joined the eFuel Alliance initiative. This initiative advocates for the expansion and promotion of the global production of synthetic fuels and their widespread application in many areas. Its goal is for eFuels to gain political acceptance and regulatory recognition as a significant contribution to sustainable climate protection.
(Ratingen) – Unlike conventional fuels, eFuel is climate-neutral and does not release additional CO2. Today, synthetic fuels are already compatible with current combustion engines, allowing the existing transport, distribution, and fuel infrastructure to continue to be utilized.
eFuel as a Complete Replacement
The greatest potential for eFuel lies in the road transport sector, as they can be produced either as eDiesel or ePetrol (initially as a blend with conventional fuels) and eventually as an environmentally friendly full replacement for these. “We are very pleased to engage in alternative fuels as part of the eFuel Alliance.
Important Component on the Path to Emission-Free Mobility
Only by combining electromobility with other alternative drives can the ambitious climate goals of the EU be achieved – eFuels can play a significant role here, especially due to their compatibility with existing infrastructure,” says Marc Erkens, Head of Sustainability and New Mobility at DKV Mobility. “In the medium term, we aim to become the leading provider of sustainable mobility services in our industry.” Today, DKV already offers the largest LNG supply network in all of Europe with 100 stations. Additionally, the company provides its customers access to over 100,000 charging points for electric and hybrid vehicles. Each year, DKV connects 5,000 new filling stations, with a strong focus on multi-energy stations that offer alternative fuels such as LNG, CNG, and LPG alongside conventional fuels.www.dkv-euroservice.comImage: The mobility service provider DKV Mobility has today joined the eFuel Alliance initiative – © DKV EURO SERVICE GmbH + Co.
