29. October 2020The Albert Craiss GmbH & Co. KG has recently adopted a new, intelligent system for monitoring transports at night. With the Customer Control Center connected to the vehicles’ telematics, the Swabian transport company can optimize the accuracy of its nighttime processes.
(Mühlacker) – The tool captures in real-time where a truck is located and automatically monitors its route and schedule, allowing night shift employees to only intervene in case of deviations. Currently, nearly 65 German and around five Romanian trips per night are tentatively connected to the new solution. An expansion of this new workflow to the entire Craiss Group is planned for 2021.
“The Customer Control Center brings calmness and greater accuracy to our nighttime processes, thereby creating even more trust with our customers,” says Torsten Kurfiß, Head of Transport at Albert Craiss GmbH & Co. KG. Between 10 PM and 6 AM, selected transports in Germany and Romania are currently monitored with the new tracking tool. Delays, for example due to traffic jams or breakdowns, are categorized in a traffic light system and can be predicted to the minute and communicated to the customer. Additionally, the software allows direct contact with the driver.
The feedback from customers so far has been extremely positive. “With the Customer Control Center, shippers not only benefit from increased planning security but can also take advantage of extended insurance coverage for the goods,” says Kurfiß. The comprehensive rollout of the system is planned for the upcoming year.
