2. November 2020Night Star Express GmbH Logistics, a night express service provider from Unna, is adjusting its prices in Germany for the coming year, responding among other things to the effects of the Covid19 pandemic. The cost structures will be adjusted in 2021.
(Unna) – The planned price adjustment of at least 4.9 percent will be implemented by the company, supported by six logistics service providers, in the first half of 2021. Due to the regionally varying cost structures, the adjustments may differ in various regions of Germany.
The Goal is Quality Improvement
The goal, according to Matthias Hohmann, Managing Director of Night Star Express GmbH Logistics, is to continuously improve quality to better meet customer needs. Matthias Hohmann: “This price adjustment allows us to further develop our infrastructure while also improving our service and transport quality to ensure top-notch customer solutions.”
At the same time, Night Star Express is doing everything possible to adequately respond to the special challenges posed by the Covid19 pandemic. Hohmann: “Of course, the negative development of the entire economy with its far-reaching effects has not left us unscathed. Many of our customers come from the automotive industry, but other sectors are also struggling with losses. Our highest goal is to continue protecting our employees and to get through this time well. This requires extensive hygiene measures and special staffing to avoid bottlenecks.”
About Night Star Express
Night Star Express is a merger of six medium-sized logistics service providers. Since its founding in 1993, the company has been providing night express services: customer shipments are picked up by late afternoon and delivered by the following night by no later than eight o’clock, often significantly earlier. Delivery to recipients occurs without a receipt. It is electronically documented and can be accessed online via a tracking page.
The drivers deliver the goods at night to pre-defined locations for which they have received a key or access code before the first delivery. This can be the trunk of a vehicle, a warehouse, or a lockable box. The benefit for recipients: the required goods are on-site at the start of work. Waiting times are eliminated, and orders can be processed immediately in the morning.
