6. November 2020RYTLE and Krone accompany the Dock’n’Deliver project of Rhenus Home Delivery with expertise and the right product. Dock’n’Deliver, a strategy specifically addressing the requirements of the Last Mile, is a concept developed from the Innovation Hub of Rhenus Home Delivery.
(Bremen) – Under the project name Dock’n’Deliver, four hydraulically lowerable swap bodies – so-called HUBs – will support the transport of goods between the Rhenus Home Delivery warehouse in Hoppegarten and the micro depot in Westhafen Berlin starting in early November 2020 during a multi-month deployment phase, thus enabling easier deliveries to end customers in the city center. The HUBs are provided by project partner RYTLE, which has already established itself in the market with its smart logistics concept for the Last Mile. The swap body produced by the commercial vehicle specialist Krone Commercial Vehicle SE in Herzlake stands out as a mobile depot with a small footprint. The hydraulic supports and electric gates allow for uncomplicated loading and unloading.
Solutions for Difficult-to-Transport Goods Sought
The Innovation Hub acts as an interface between the operational level and the market for new technologies to develop solutions for current logistical challenges. A particular focus is on finding solutions for difficult-to-transport goods such as furniture, household appliances, and mattresses, which can be delivered directly to the place of use upon request.
“We are excited to be part of this exciting project,” says Johannes F.D. Hill, Business Development Manager at RYTLE. “Our coherent logistics concept can be flexibly adapted to the requirements of everyday transport. We are happy to support Rhenus Home Delivery with our products to make their transport business even more efficient,” Hill continues.
“In our Innovation Hub, we deal daily with the question of how we can further adapt our specialized networks of Rhenus Home Delivery and Rhenus High Tech to the changing requirements. By using the RYTLE HUBs and a well-thought-out delivery strategy monitored by telematics, we hope to make our processes even more flexible, time-efficient, and transparent,” adds Jonas von Frieling, Head of Department of the Innovation Hub of Rhenus SN digital.
