20. November 2020Dachser has launched a new logistics terminal in Finland. With its first cross-dock facility in Kerava, in the Helsinki metropolitan area, the logistics service provider is expanding its services in the Finnish market. The new branch is also conveniently located near the Vuosaari port and Helsinki airport.
(Kempten/Kerava) Dachser’s new land transport branch in Finland started operations in September. The facility features a 4,000 square meter transshipment hall and approximately 600 square meters of office space. Dachser handles all import and export shipments at the new terminal and manages distribution throughout the entire Helsinki metropolitan area. A large portion of Finnish companies are located in this urban area. The proximity of the branch to the E75 highway, Vuosaari port, and the airport ensures good transport connections.
“With our new, spacious facilities and our own local transport organization, we can offer our customers in Finland the high Dachser quality standards. At the same time, we optimally connect the country to our powerful European land transport network,” says Tuomas Leimio, Managing Director, European Logistics, Dachser Finland Oy.
Reliable Supply
The logistics sector has gained more public attention in Finland due to the COVID-19 crisis. “We have impressively demonstrated our reliability during the crisis and shown that we can support Finland’s supply security,” Leimio continues. “Through close networking with our colleagues worldwide, we knew early on what impact the crisis could have on supply chains. This was of great benefit to us and our customers here in Finland, as we were able to quickly adapt to the new challenges and maintain stable operations throughout.”

The ACE Logistics Group, headquartered in Tallinn (Estonia), holds 50 percent of the shares in the joint venture and has been a long-standing network partner in Dachser’s land transport in the Baltic region.
