19. November 2020The logistics specialist Heinloth from Roth is taking another step towards a sustainable future with the awarding of the ‘EU Organic Certificate’. Heinloth meets all the requirements along the supply chain to handle and transport organic products properly.
(Roth near Nuremberg) Organic is in, and natural foods are trending. Accordingly, the demands on the production and distribution of goods from ecological production are high. This applies not only to the cultivation and processing of organic products but also to the storage and transport of these valuable goods.
The Rother corporate group Heinloth – the logistic experts has responded early to these challenges and created all the prerequisites to be a responsible partner within the entire supply chain for sensitive food products. This has now been confirmed to the company by the awarding of the EU Organic Certificate. For Managing Director Roland Heinloth, this was an “important step towards a sustainable future”.
Purity and Quality are of the Highest Importance
The EU Organic Certificate has regulated strict requirements for organic products since 1991. It ensures the purity and quality of food throughout the entire supply chain from producer to consumer. Due to its own high standards, Heinloth decided to undergo the rigorous examination for the certificate – and has received confirmation from the inspection body Control Union Certifications Germany GmbH. Roland Heinloth stated: “The storage, handling, and transport of goods are of great importance. In our company, we guarantee that the organic products go through all processes properly. We are supported in this by our modern warehouse management system, which enables the strict physical separation of all processes – from goods receipt inspection to storage and picking to distribution. Thus, mixing or contact of organic products with non-organic products is excluded.”
Prerequisites for Certification Established
To obtain certification, Heinloth has established all structural and logistical prerequisites. “This enables us to provide our services specifically for manufacturers and trading partners of organic foods.” Heinloth is convinced that this market will continue to grow. The Federal Statistical Office has reported a steadily increasing share of organic foods in Germany since 2010. In the past year alone, their market share grew by almost six percent.
