26. November 2020The shipping logistics provider PARCEL.ONE for cross-border online trade is moving on December 1, 2020, and significantly expanding its warehouse. The parcel service provider is relocating from its previous location in Butzbach to the ‘Loghotel’ in Pohlheim-Garbenteich, Hesse. There, it occupies 11,000 m2 of logistics space and 1,000 m2 of office space.
(Butzbach/Pohlheim-Garbenteich) The logistics service provider PARCEL.ONE is modernizing and expanding its location to over 11,000 square meters of logistics space plus 1,000 square meters of administration. The start-up was founded in 2016 and started in 2017 with an area of less than 200 square meters. With the move, the company is investing in the future and creating space for further and significant growth. For 2021, PARCEL.ONE expects at least a fivefold increase in shipment volume compared to the previous year.
New Location Directly on the A5
The new location from December is the Loghotel Germany in Pohlheim-Garbenteich, Hesse, directly on the A5 motorway in the northern Rhine-Main area. There, the company has more creative freedom for new innovations in the logistics industry. One innovation is the new letter and parcel sorting system, which is currently being set up. Together with the Swiss company Prolistic, which operates more than 50 letter sorting systems in Europe, new processing options have been designed. In the future, 6,000 parcels can be sorted per hour to 26 different destinations. PARCEL.ONE also plans to expand its own fulfillment offering specifically for cross-border shipping. With a new logistical solution called ‘Hub as a Service’, foreign parcel service providers are given the opportunity to use a logistics hub in Germany. Both can be realized much better from the new location.
Founder and Managing Director Micha Augstein looks ambitiously to the future: “We have increased our logistics space 60-fold in the past four years. This is significant growth, but for us, it is not the end of the line. We look forward to continuing to grow innovatively and developing even more solutions for e-commerce shipping.”
E-Commerce More Relevant Than Ever
The Loghotel has good infrastructural connections and offers significantly more space for the back-office staff. Thus, the move also sustainably invests in modern working conditions and corporate culture. Meanwhile, the company handles shipments for over 1,000 companies in more than 240 countries and regions.
“E-commerce is more relevant than ever – especially because of the pandemic. Whether abroad or at home on the couch in Germany, online shopping knows no opening hours. As logistics experts, we want to be able to respond to all developments and be prepared for all eventualities. With the move to a larger warehouse, we have everything we need for that,” says Managing Director Micha Augstein.
