Dec 10, 2020 at 7:00 PMThe Autoport Emden automates the export customs process with Dakosy. This prepares the company well for Brexit. The number of export clearances will nearly double due to the United Kingdom’s exit from the EU. With Dakosy’s software, the customs process is fully automated.
(Hamburg/Emden) Autoport Emden GmbH feels well-prepared for the upcoming Brexit, which will take effect on January 1, 2020, with the DAKOSY customs software ZODIAK GE. The company currently handles export clearances, including exemptions, for about 500,000 vehicles of all brands of the Volkswagen Group per year. With Brexit, an additional approximately 450,000 vehicles will be added annually starting in 2021.
Complete Takeover via Interface
The special feature of the DAKOSY customs software is the “full automation”: The export customs process is fully automated, and the data is completely transferred via a black box interface from the Autoport Emden GmbH’s merchandise management system into the customs software ZODIAK GE, submitted to the electronic customs system ATLAS via an automated sending function, and subsequently released for export. “It is extremely rare in practice for information of this quality to be available in the preliminary systems,” emphasizes DAKOSY project manager Eggers.Another special feature is the smooth takeover by DAKOSY. Only two months passed from the commissioning to the implementation of this project. Since the cut-off date of July 1, 2019, 2,000 vehicles daily – that is, 40,000 vehicles per month – have been processed with ZODIAK GE. “We are pleased with the excellent cooperation with DAKOSY and the smooth export clearance of our vehicles,” praises Manfred de Vries, Managing Director of Autoport Emden GmbH, the services of DAKOSY.
