10. December 2020VTL Vernetzte-Transport-Logistik GmbH held its 15th system meeting – for the first time as an online event. In addition to the presentation of this year’s Partner Awards, the more than 100 participants received insights into the current status of the future project ‘VTL Next’. Partner Awards for growth and quality were presented.
(Fulda) Right at the beginning of the event, VTL’s management had good news for the partners: “Despite the challenging situation, we will not be defeated,” said Managing Director Andreas Jäschke. Once again, it has proven worthwhile to go through these difficult times together as a strong network. “This is also reflected in the encouraging look at the numbers: Currently, we expect to finish 2020 almost at the previous year’s level despite Corona,” said Birkhan. Particularly successful was the Auch GmbH freight forwarding company from Annaburg, which was awarded the VTL Partner Award for ‘Best Quality’. The award in the category ‘Largest National Growth’ went to Huckschlag GmbH from Fröndenberg.
Virtual Networking
“Of course, we would have preferred to present the awards in person,” said Managing Director Johanna Birkhan. But given the current Corona regulations, this was not possible. Thanks to digital technologies, the annual VTL system meeting could still take place. “As part of our future project Next, we are dealing with the topic of digitization, among other things. Therefore, the step to a virtual partner meeting was not difficult for us,” emphasizes Birkhan. Additionally, the management duo found it particularly important to connect with the depots in this challenging Corona year and to inform them about the economic development and VTL projects. And to give them the promise to consistently pursue the initiated future projects. “Next year, we will focus specifically on the topics of quality, strong network, and digitization,” said Johanna Birkhan.
Tips for Business Management in Crisis Times
Business coach Dr. Marcus Disselkamp also explained which levers each individual VTL partner can use to emerge stronger from crises like the Corona pandemic. He provided participants with concrete tips for business management and illustrated how new business models can be developed. “Our first online event in the Bildstürmer studio in Fulda was a complete success,” refers Andreas Jäschke. Nevertheless, VTL hopes to organize an in-person event again next year. “A digital meeting cannot completely replace the personal exchange between partners and the networking that is so important to us,” said Birkhan.
