(Bruchsal/Czestochowa/Gdansk) The Hegelmann Group is a European success story: Just nine years after its founding, the company, with well over 4,000 vehicles, is one of the largest freight forwarders in Europe. In Poland, the company is even number one with a fleet size of 2,037 own trucks. To maintain its position as the national market leader, the group is now announcing further investments and the opening of additional branches in the Republic of Poland. “We started less than ten years ago in a small office in Czestochowa. Today we are leading in the transport industry in Poland. To keep this position in the coming years, we want to continue to grow,” says Fedir Yurkevych, CEO of Hegelmann Transporte in Poland.
Largest Fleet in Poland
The company currently has the largest fleet in the Polish market, operates several logistics centers, and employs 2,380 truck drivers and 530 administrative staff in the country. In addition, there are subcontractors and freelancers. Across Europe, more than 7,000 people work for the Hegelmann Group. “We are now represented all over Poland and are an important pillar of the international group with additional offices and logistics centers in Warsaw, Poznań, Katowice, and Gdansk,” reports Fedir Yurkevych. They operate in the heart of Europe. Poland is an important transit country in European long-distance transport with a strong economy. “The conditions for growth here are good. Due to the pan-European growth of the group, they are ideal. We benefit from the general growth dynamics of the corporate family.”
2019 Was the Most Successful Year in Czestochowa
2019 was the most successful year in the history of the Polish branch of the Hegelmann Group. “We expanded the headquarters in Czestochowa and opened new offices. We want to continue to develop dynamically and continue our expansion in the Polish market with the opening of further branches,” announces Fedir Yurkevych. Poland, located in the heart of Europe, is an important transit country and a key player in the European long-distance transport market. “In terms of the pan-European development of the Hegelmann Group, we have ideal conditions for operations here,” he adds. The development of the company has accelerated especially in recent years.
New Locations Are Developing Quickly
The companies in Wrocław, Poznań, and Katowice, which recently joined the Hegelmann Group, are developing quickly – both in terms of the number of employees and vehicles, as well as the number of orders. In the first three quarters of this year alone, the company handled around 200,000 shipments for its customers, including many special transports. In February, the company purchased five environmentally friendly LNG trucks. By 2025, the liquefied natural gas-powered vehicles are expected to make up at least 20 percent of the fleet. Due to this growth dynamic, Hegelmann Poland was awarded multiple times last year by the renowned magazine Gazeta Prawna: as the fastest-growing company in the transport and logistics industry based on revenue dynamics and as the highest-grossing freight forwarder in Poland. Additionally, the company won numerous awards related to service and quality.
