14. December 2020Stable, solid, and organic, BTK Befrachtungs- und transportkontor GmbH has grown by about one-fifth over the last five years. This achievement was virtually honored by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy with the award ‘Bavaria’s Best 50’ on December 11, 2020.
(Rosenheim) BTK was first among the award winners in 2009. Now, Hubert Aiwanger, Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs, recognized the jump from 250 to 300 employees and a 19 percent increase in revenue over the last five years as an outstanding entrepreneurial achievement.
Of the 8,000 pre-selected companies, six percent of the applicants came from the transport/logistics sector. The industry is disproportionately well represented with five winners. On average, across all applicants, transport and logistics companies have hardly increased their revenue and have raised their workforce by 19 percent.
Award Winners as Role Models
“Top 50 companies serve as role models for the entire Bavarian economy,” praises Hubert Aiwanger, highlighting not only the stable growth but also the resilience in crises, especially regarding COVID-19. For BTK, the award is a confirmation of their long-term strategy. Among other things, since 2014, they have been focusing on a second pillar in contract logistics with the construction of their own logistics halls and are heavily investing in the comprehensive digitalization of all processes.
Chosen Path is Correct
“We are very proud of this award. It shows that we are on the right path we have taken in recent years and that we can count on our strong team,” says Josef Heiß, who, together with Franz Weiß, accepted the award with a virtual handshake on behalf of all 300 employees.
As an expert in supply chains in trade, BTK generates half of its revenue in the transport logistics sector. Hygiene paper, food, and beverages make up the largest share. In contract logistics, they work with a wide range of value-added services with companies of all sizes in the region.
