13. January 2021The cancellation of transport logistic is a severe setback for the logistics industry. The planned online conference can only partially compensate for this. Nowhere do logistics professionals feel the value of personal contacts more than at the biennial transport logistic event. It is difficult to quantify the damage, but it will be significant. However, due to the unpredictable nature of COVID-19, the organizers had no choice. The decision had to be made early to provide exhibitors with planning security.
(Munich) The transport logistic 2021 will not take place. The background is the numerous international travel restrictions, the lifting of which is not foreseeable until spring, and which undermine the exhibitors’ expectations regarding visitor participation. As a bridge to further events in the transport logistic network, an online conference will be held from May 4 to 6, 2021. The next transport logistic as a physical trade fair will take place from May 9 to 12, 2023.
“Our customers now need to start with the detailed planning for transport logistic and require planning security. The still ongoing dynamic infection situation and the resulting travel restrictions make a successful execution of transport logistics in early May impossible,” explains Stefan Rummel, Managing Director of Messe München. “For this reason, we have decided, based on recommendations and in coordination with the exhibitor advisory board, to cancel transport logistic 2021.”

Exchange and knowledge transfer will now be facilitated by transport logistic with an online conference at the original trade fair date from May 4 to 6, 2021 – a bridge to further events in the transport logistic network in September in San Francisco, in November in Istanbul, in February 2022 in Mumbai, in June 2022 in Shanghai, and in February 2023 in Johannesburg. “Transport logistic remains the most important hub for B2B networking in the global logistics industry,” emphasizes Rummel. “The new digital formats and their further development will continue to enrich our trade fairs in the future and make networking more efficient and better than ever.”
Exhibitor Advisory Board supports transport logistic
Despite the current decision, it is important for the numerous companies and associations represented in the exhibitor advisory board of transport logistic to emphasize the significance of the fair for their business success. Birgit Kastner-Simon, member of the exhibitor advisory board and Director of Corporate Marketing at DACHSER, states: “The need to engage with international partners and customers is greater than ever in these challenging times. Transport logistic would be the best platform for this in normal times. We will make the best use of the upcoming events in the transport logistic network – to come together again in Munich by 2023 and make the international logistics industry meeting a complete success once more.”
The next transport logistic will take place from May 9 to 12, 2023.
