17. January 2021IPP GmbH retroactively takes over the plastic pallet pool of Zentek Pool Systems AG as of January 1, 2021. This significantly expands IPP’s previously small plastic pallet pool. The portfolio expansion addresses the increased demand, especially in light of the ever-stricter hygiene regulations in the food and pharmaceutical sectors.
(Gevelsberg) After integrating the quarter pallet business of Arpack in 2020, IPP GmbH continues its expansion course and took over the plastic pallet pool of Zentek Pool Systems GmbH along with its customer base as of January 1, 2021. This allows the company to further expand its offerings for the market and provides new efficient options with plastic pallets in Euro and industrial sizes for industry and trade, alongside the wooden Euro and half pallets, as well as the 1.4 quarter pallet. The plastic pallet pool benefits from IPP’s many years of experience and its extensive logistics network in Europe – thus opening up new potential for managing the pool. The strategic expansion of IPP GmbH’s product portfolio aims to meet the increased demands of the FMCG sector – especially in light of the ever-stricter hygiene regulations for food, drugstore products, and pharmaceuticals, particularly on the first mile.
Plastic Pallets to Become a Solid Pillar
“As an intelligent response to the constantly changing market demands, we offer our customers a comprehensive range of load carriers and pooling services,” explains Stefan Herbergs, Managing Director of IPP. “Until now, we only maintained a small pool of plastic load carriers, which we have successfully expanded by taking over the entire pooling area from Zentek. Plastic pallets are intended to form a solid, expandable pillar of our company.” IPP sees great potential especially in the first mile of logistics for FMCG industrial suppliers and in the pharmaceutical industry. Here, it is essential to provide the same high standards of reliability and service as in the existing business areas.
Logistical Peak Values in Profitability and Efficiency on the First Mile
The hygienic plastic load carriers in Euro format are robust, lightweight, and optimized for automated processes. With the plastic pallet pool from Zentek, IPP also takes over its modern technical solutions – the ability for seamless, location-specific tracking of product batches, the recording of each individual pallet, or their exact assignment along the supply chains. This ensures smooth operations, minimizes pallet loss, and secures optimal inventory management. All pallets are equipped with a globally unique serial number (GRAI) that can be read via UHF RFID, barcode, data matrix, and clear text; the solutions are compatible with IoT applications. The load carriers were developed in cooperation with leading companies from industry and trade; they are HACCP compliant, meet the certified IFS Food regulations, and are optimally suited for the areas of food, pharmaceuticals, trade, and logistics. “We are pleased to have found in IPP a partner with the same high quality standards, which is also one of the leading European pooling companies. Customers will particularly benefit from IPP’s Europe-wide depot network, its broad acceptance among trading partners, and of course from a now comprehensive load carrier portfolio,” says Christoph Ley, Managing Director of Zentek.
