18. January 2021The cargo bike manufacturer citkar, producer of the Loadster brand, has gained its first DAX corporation as a customer with Deutsche Telekom. Since November last year, Loadster has been in test use at Telekom in Berlin and Münster. The practicality in customer service is being tested.
(Berlin) The customer base of the cargo bike manufacturer citkar is steadily expanding due to interest in the Loadster cargo bike. Now citkar can count its first DAX corporation among its customers: Since November 2020, Loadster has been in test use for Deutsche Telekom AG at the locations of Münster and Berlin. citkar’s Managing Director Jonas Kremer is pleased to have won Deutsche Telekom, the largest telecommunications company in Europe, for a test with the Loadster: “The goal of citkar is to improve urban mobility with solutions that provide added value and inspire. We are particularly pleased that Telekom wants to test the possibilities of our cargo bike in everyday use in customer service.”
Telekom has been testing alternative mobility concepts since 2017
Telekom has been piloting alternative mobility concepts in service since 2017. This aims to gather experiences on which alternative drives 8,000 technicians in the field can use to complete their 30,000 daily tasks and arrive on time at the customer. The colleagues should reach the customer quickly, comfortably, and efficiently. This should happen as environmentally and resource-friendly as possible. Cargo bikes offer the possibility to bypass traffic jams without further burdening city centers and can park directly at the customer. In addition to e-bikes and electric vehicles, scooters are also currently being tested. The advantage of the Loadster is its high payload, allowing technicians to carry tools, materials, and measuring devices on board.
Thanks to the driver’s cabin, use is also possible in worse weather. citkar started series production of the Loadster cargo bike in October 2020. The production facility in Berlin-Marzahn currently has a monthly capacity of 160 vehicles, which is scalable upwards. This positions citkar as a reliable and innovative manufacturer that can serve its customers in the rapidly growing cargo bike segment with three models and two configurations each (closed box or flatbed). The insurance cooperation with the digital insurer hepster enables worry-free commercial life with the Loadster through comprehensive insurance, protection letter, and 24-hour emergency assistance across Europe.
