KGaA, the leading media logistics specialist, is expanding its core business area and acquiring a majority stake in the Darmstadt-based BuchPartner GmbH. Just about a week ago, the group announced a name change. The previous KNV Zeitfracht is now Zeitfracht GmbH.
(Berlin/Darmstadt) Zeitfracht GmbH is acquiring a majority stake in BuchPartner GmbH in Darmstadt, subject to the approval of the antitrust authorities, thereby expanding its core business area of media logistics. BuchPartner is a full-service provider for books and media, operating throughout the German-speaking region. The company’s customer base primarily includes supermarkets, consumer markets, electronics retailers, and discounters. BuchPartner manages and supports professional book departments in these markets and offers various tailored space concepts and book assortments. Currently, BuchPartner oversees and supplies over 5,000 sales areas in Germany and Austria.
The deal complements existing services

BuchPartner GmbH has a total of 820 employees and is headquartered in Darmstadt. Through close collaboration with almost all publishing houses in Germany, the company offers customers an exclusive, independent, and tailored product range. The company operates its own logistics center in Darmstadt.
Extensive audiobook range
In addition to books and calendars, the product offering includes an extensive range of audiobooks. With the “MyBooks” shop-in-shop system, BuchPartner offers its own functional furniture for large sales areas. The in-house sales team and service team ensure optimal support in the markets. BuchPartner has been specializing in the implementation and professional management of book concepts in this distribution channel for over 25 years.
