Feb 9, 2021 at 1:36 PMThe intralogistics provider Torwegge GmbH & Co. KG responds to the increased demand for conveyor systems for individual piece goods, particularly for small and light roller conveyors (KLB). These are primarily used in logistics and production. In-house manufacturing offers a high degree of customization.
(Bielefeld) TORWEGGE GmbH & Co. KG is currently experiencing increased interest in small and light roller conveyors (KLB). The East Westphalian provider of conveyor technology produces and distributes roller conveyors specifically designed for light and small loads from its Bielefeld location. By manufacturing both individual components such as rails, rollers, or support brackets as well as complete conveyor systems, TORWEGGE ensures tailored solutions.
“There is a demand for small and light roller conveyors wherever a certain number of individual boxes or crates need to be handled, which is almost every business,” says Uwe Eschment, Managing Director of TORWEGGE GmbH & Co. KG. The roller conveyors are used across various industries in packaging lines, for feeding in assembly, for transporting, or for buffering goods manually or via gravity.
Lower Investment Costs
While small roller conveyors are specifically suitable for small and light goods due to the small distance between their carrying rollers, light roller conveyors are used for larger packages and loads of up to around 50 kilograms, as their carrying rollers have a larger diameter and thus a greater axle distance. Since the roller conveyors have a smaller diameter and are narrower compared to conventional systems of this type, less material is required. Customers therefore benefit from lower investment costs. Additionally, the space requirement is adapted to the rather small conveyor units, which benefits the overall building design and space utilization.
Roller conveyors are among the most commonly used intralogistics conveyor systems when it comes to moving piece goods. They come in various designs: whether manual, gravity-driven, or fully automated, from small and light roller conveyors to heavy-duty roller conveyors. With simple construction, high operational safety, and low operating effort, they can transport large quantities.
