16. February 2021Dachser Air & Sea Logistics (ASL) has restructured the management of its business units in the regions of Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) and Americas. Dr. Tobias Burger will now lead the ASL EMEA Business Unit, while Ralph Riehl takes over the ASL Americas Business Unit.
(Kempten) The position of Managing Director ASL EMEA is now held by Dr. Tobias Burger, who was previously the Deputy Director ASL and responsible for the strategic development of the Air & Sea Logistics business. Before his move to the air and sea freight sector, the 43-year-old led the ‘Corporate Governance & CEO Office’ at Dachser. Dr. Burger succeeds Thomas Krüger, who has been managing the air and sea freight business in the EMEA region since 2016.
Long Experience in North and Latin America
The responsibility for the ASL Americas Business Unit is now transferred to 55-year-old Ralph Riehl. Before joining Dachser, the experienced manager worked for nearly 30 years at the logistics company Panalpina, now DSV Panalpina, holding leadership positions in France, Singapore, and the USA. Most recently, Riehl was the Senior Vice President of Sales responsible for the entire sales of DSV Panalpina in North and Latin America. Riehl takes over the position of Managing Director ASL Americas from Guido Gries, who has led the Dachser business in the region since 2012. “We thank Thomas Krüger and Guido Gries for their many years of dedicated work in the development and integration of our air and sea freight network and wish them all the best for their professional and personal future,” explains Edoardo Podestà, COO Air & Sea Logistics at Dachser. “Dr. Tobias Burger and Ralph Riehl will bring new impulses for the sustainable and profitable development of Dachser Air & Sea Logistics in their regions through their optimal combination of internal and external expertise.
