18. February 2021The BER Awaits Its Trial After the Corona Crisis
18. February 2021Seifert Logistics Group (SLG) is expanding its existing logistics center in Ulm North. On approximately 80,000 square meters, the contract logistics service provider will build a new, sustainable multi-user logistics center. By 2022, in addition to 60,000 pallet spaces and logistics area for value-added services, a new administrative building, the Seifert Office World, will also be created.
(Ulm) This family-owned company, Seifert Logistics Group, is creating additional capacities to provide extensive contract logistics services for customers from various industries. A mid double-digit million amount is allocated for the project, which corresponds to the largest single investment in the history of the corporate group.
Dynamic Growth
“Once again, we are making a statement for the continuously dynamic growth of Seifert Logistics Group. We see this immense investment as a guarantee for the continuity of our activities,” says Harald Seifert, Chairman of the Advisory Board of Seifert Logistics Group, who sees the corporate group well-positioned for the future. Beyond the upcoming expansion, the site in Ulm North offers additional development potential with the possibility of further increasing logistics areas. The reason for the expansion is the steadily increasing demand for logistics services.
Strategically well-located, the Ulm North site promotes the further development of the family-run corporate group’s business: The site is easily accessible via the A7 and A8 motorways between Stuttgart and Munich, with the Ulm North exit located directly at the logistics center. The immediate proximity to the container terminal leads to connections to other transport modes and thus also to the seaports.
Room for Value Added Services
By the end of the first quarter of 2022, 60,000 additional pallet spaces and room for value-added services will be created in the new multi-user logistics center in Ulm North. Existing and new customers can utilize contract logistics services there. In addition to storage, services such as labeling, repackaging, 3D printing, or assembly are included. The property meets the requirements of various industrial and trade sectors, from pharmaceuticals to food to FMCG or lithium-ion batteries. Depending on demand, the area can be used as high-bay or block storage. “To ensure our usual high quality even with increasing volume, we will also increase our workforce alongside the storage and handling capacities,” says Seifert. With the start of operations, up to 400 employees will be employed in Ulm North.
New Sustainable Headquarters
The site will no longer be used solely as a logistics center but also as a headquarters. The current headquarters in the Ulm Danube Valley will be sold. An administrative building will be constructed on the roof of the hall. The entire property will be planned according to the latest standards, providing a pleasant working atmosphere. Sustainable building technology with photovoltaic systems and efficient insulation will also ensure a good energy balance.
