20. February 2021The JadeWeserPort in Wilhelmshaven still has available capacities, unlike other ports in the West Range. These are linked to services to and from China and to and from the Mediterranean. The JadeWeserPort is also well connected by road and rail, making it accessible. Re-dispatches are also possible.
(Wilhelmshaven) Full terminals in the West ports as well as in other German seaports and the associated restrictions on the delivery of containers lead to understandable frustration among shipping customers and service providers. Due to the available free capacities, the JadeWeserPort Wilhelmshaven offers practical solutions that not only help customers maintain international supply chains without interruption but also allow for more time for deliveries than in other ports, as it is often the last loading port on the continent – and this usually comes with a shorter transit time for goods to their final destination.
The shift of volumes to Wilhelmshaven restores the usual reliability and punctuality in the supply chain for shipping and logistics companies and strengthens the system. Planned ship departures can be met, and costly truck transshipments can be avoided. Any necessary interim storage of containers until further transport by ship or to the recipient in the inland can be arranged at favorable conditions in the freight transport center.
Services from Shipping Lines
With the shipping services of the shipping consortia Ocean Alliance and 2M, destinations such as Ningbo, Busan, Xingang, Dalian, Shanghai, Singapore, Yantian, Xiamen, Hong Kong, and Kwangyang in Asia can be directly reached via Wilhelmshaven. In addition, there is a regular connection to the ports of Mersin, Limassol, Haifa, Ashdod, Alexandria, and Port Said East with the SLB service from Sealand, as well as transshipment to Iskenderun and Beirut in the eastern Mediterranean.
“We sincerely hope that customers will discover and take advantage of these benefits, contributing to a welcome easing of traffic for all parties involved,” says Andreas Bullwinkel, Managing Director of the JadeWeserPort Marketing Company. “Re-routing to the destination CT Wilhelmshaven is possible without much effort, as many rail services are routed through the hub in Maschen and could therefore be regrouped at short notice. And truck transports are already so flexible that a short-term change can be accommodated,” Bullwinkel continues.
