25. February 2021The logistics service provider from Sweden, previously operating under the name Swedlink, will now be known as Rhenus Logistics AB. The company, based in Malmö with another branch in the capital Stockholm, has been part of the Rhenus Group since the end of 2019. The renaming solidifies the integration into the Rhenus network.
(Holzwickede/Malmö) The focus of the logistics provider from Scandinavia is on Western European traffic as well as freight transport in the Scandinavian countries. In addition to Sweden, Germany and Italy are among the main markets. Their service is provided through regional hubs in Stockholm, Malmö, Jönköping in the province of Småland, and Gothenburg. Even under the new Rhenus flag, Swedlink will maintain its independence as a locally and regionally operating company.
“The personal contacts of our employees with the customers, many of whom we have known for years, are extremely important to us. It has been easy for us to integrate into the Rhenus Group, as we fully share the customer-focused approach and the values of the family-run logistics provider. We are proud to be able to show our connection in the same name in the future,” says Claes Ostrander, Managing Director of Rhenus Logistics AB.
Years of Partnership
The acquisition by Rhenus is the result of years of trust built through a partnership that began with the founding of Swedlink in 2013. Swedish customers are expected to benefit significantly from the affiliation with Rhenus.
“With the integration into the Rhenus Group, we can offer our Swedish customers a denser European road network with higher frequency and more routes. Additionally, there are the experience and capacities of Rhenus along the entire supply chain, in the area of multimodal transport, as well as in storage and customs clearance,” says Claes Ostrander.
In the future, Rhenus also plans to offer further IT-based solutions in Sweden, such as the Rhenus proprietary Track & Trace portal or automated CO2 evaluations.
