Götz Strahl Takes Over Port Logistics Management from Uwe Bäßgen in Rostock
6. March 2021Savino Del Bene Expands Its Sales Team in Germany
7. March 2021Another traditional brand is disappearing from the landscape of German logistics with the name neska. Since early March, the companies of the neska group have been operating under the name HGK Logistics and Intermodal within the Ports and Freight Transport Cologne AG (HGK Group). The companies remain operationally autonomous.
(Cologne) Since early March, the companies of the neska group have been uniformly operating as the Logistics and Intermodal division of the HGK Group. “In the HGK Group, we combine a nearly unique competence for the transport and handling of large freight flows in combined transport from a single source. We are now placing this competence at the center of our brand strategy and uniting many individual appearances under one brand umbrella,” explains Uwe Wedig, CEO of HGK.
The handling and logistics specialists of neska have been part of HGK since 2015, and now, as part of the repositioning initiated last year, the change is also taking place for the individual companies of neska.

Brand change was already announced
The brand change was already announced with the introduction of the new HGK logo and the new brand structure during the takeover of HGK Shipping in August 2020, and it is now being implemented. The previous individual brands neska (including neska Logistics, neska Intermodal, neska Containerline), Pohl & Co., uct, dbt, CTS, KCT, and RRT will now operate uniformly under one brand as the HGK Logistics and Intermodal division, but will remain unchanged as operational individual companies.
Stefan Hütten, a member of the management board of the neska group, explains: “For our customers, nothing changes in existing business relationships. All contractual arrangements and master data remain unchanged, and the proven contacts are still available for our customers. However, we will change the way we want to advance logistics solutions and develop new solutions as part of the HGK Group. In conjunction with our sister companies, we can offer integrated services like few others in the industry, secure transport chains multimodally, and provide expertise for specific goods groups across the entire supply chain.”
Transition will occur gradually
For the transition now initiated, we are deliberately taking some time, not least considering the current burdens in the operational area due to the Corona pandemic. Stefan Hütten: “We are making the transition with caution. We are starting the change with digital media and written communications. Signage on vehicles, halls, etc. will follow gradually. It is important to us to integrate the systems and processes even more strongly to advance cooperation within the entire corporate group. New and better solutions for our customers will build on this.”
