SMEs Have Little Time Left for Damages Claims Against Truck Cartel
10. March 2021Ludwigsburg Launches Pilot Project for Sustainable City Logistics
10. March 2021DHL will soon install Packstations at JET gas stations. In the future, customers can save time and conveniently combine a visit to a gas station with picking up and/or sending packages. Up to 300 new Packstations will be installed this year alone. In the future, almost all of the more than 680 JET locations will have a Packstation.
(Bonn, Hamburg) Almost all of the more than 680 JET gas stations in Germany will soon have a DHL Packstation. This allows customers to conveniently pick up and send their packages at JET – and that around the clock. The first Packstation of the new partnership was officially put into operation today in Leipzig by JET and Deutsche Post DHL Group. “We are pleased to have a new strong partner in JET, so our customers can receive and send their packages easily at many more attractive locations with the Packstation,” explains Bernd Franken, Key Account Manager Post & Package Germany at Deutsche Post DHL Group. This year alone, a Packstation will be set up at up to 300 JET locations in the outdoor area.
Helpful Overall Offering
Oliver Reichert, Manager Retail Germany at JET Tankstellen Deutschland GmbH, adds: “JET aims to provide mobile customers with a helpful overall offering in an appealing atmosphere – and to constantly optimize this offering. It is no coincidence that we have been voted Germany’s favorite gas station brand for the eleventh consecutive time. The expansion of our services to include DHL Packstations fits perfectly.” With the additional Packstation offering, there is another reason to visit JET. JET is known for brand fuel at a low price as well as an attractive shop and bistro offering. The Deutsche Post DHL Group currently offers its customers over 6,500 Packstations nationwide. By 2023, there will be at least 12,000 machines. Almost every second household in Germany can already reach a Packstation within a kilometer. The company primarily relies on partners, such as gas station operators, public transport companies, and grocery stores, to provide a comprehensive network of machines in central locations of daily life – both in cities and in rural areas.
No Extra Trips for Customers
“Our customers should not have to make extra trips to send and pick up their packages. We want them to be able to conveniently combine this with their everyday errands, such as grocery shopping, commuting to work, or refueling their cars. That is why we are providing more and more Packstations at these locations,” says Bernd Franken. Additionally, the Packstation is very easy to use. To send a package at the Packstation, one does not even need to register in advance. “The Packstation is now an offering for all age groups and not just for particularly digitally savvy people,” adds Bernd Franken. DHL Packstations are increasingly being used by a growing number of customers. In 2020 alone, the number of registered customers grew by double-digit percentages compared to the previous year. Especially during the Corona crisis, many new customers discovered the advantages of the Packstation, as they can send and receive their packages contactlessly at any time. The rapid further expansion of the Packstation network is part of a multi-year digitalization program that Deutsche Post DHL Group introduced in March 2020. The company is investing in new digital services and substantial improvements to existing solutions in the letter and parcel sector.
