10. March 2021Since the beginning of March, Philipp Aubert has held the position of Managing Director of CargoBeamer Rolling Stock GmbH. Previously, he worked for around ten years in leadership positions at Swiss SBB Cargo. In his new role at the Leipzig-based company, Aubert is particularly responsible for the availability, maintenance, and further development of the CargoBeamer wagons.
(Leipzig) The fleet of wagons that Philipp Aubert will now lead will be expanded in the coming months by 216 new freight cars to accommodate the growing transport volume of the company. By the end of 2021, over 300 wagons will be in operation for CargoBeamer, up from the current 75, connecting international terminal locations and transporting non-craneable semi-trailers environmentally friendly by rail. Aubert will manage CargoBeamer Rolling Stock GmbH together with the previous Managing Director Dieter Keller, who has been with the company since 2015 and was Managing Director of CargoBeamer intermodal operations GmbH until the end of 2020.
20 Years of Experience in the Rail Sector
Aubert began his career in 2002 at Deutsche Bahn in controlling, where he was responsible for reporting, financial planning, and commercial support in various positions. In 2010, he moved to Switzerland to SBB Cargo, where he was promoted to Head of Maintenance Planning and Control a year later and led a maintenance network in Switzerland, Germany, and Italy. From 2016, Aubert was responsible for maintenance planning and incident management for the entire SBB Cargo fleet as Head of Availability Management. From 2018, he served as Head of Dispatch and a member of the company’s production management, ultimately overseeing up to 50 employees. Since March of this year, Aubert has held the new position of Managing Director of CargoBeamer Rolling Stock GmbH. “CargoBeamer will revolutionize rail freight transport with its innovative system and provide effective relief for the already congested highways,” says Aubert. “I am very excited to be part of the CargoBeamer family from now on and to contribute in the form of safe, highly available, and cost-optimized freight wagons for our customers.”
