(Düsseldorf) With the support of the logistics cooperation LogCoop GmbH, Stenkamp Logistik GmbH has won a major contract from a leading food retailer. For this, the member of the cooperation is now handling the entire supply chain of goods handling. Since March 1, 2021, the logistics provider – partly in cooperation with other LogCoop members – has been managing the container follow-up including customs clearance, warehousing, warehouse handling, and distribution. LogCoop supported Stenkamp from the proposal preparation to the implementation of the project and provided professional guidance through the process steps. This also included the joint conception of a new location and support in implementing the plan up to the go-live, including personnel recruitment.
Years of Experience and Solid Expertise
“We are very pleased to have made a significant contribution to Stenkamp’s success in the tendering process,” says Marc Possekel, Managing Director of LogCoop GmbH. Wherever possible, the cooperation advises and supports its members in winning contracts and implementing projects. Thanks to years of experience, the employees of LogCoop possess solid expertise in business and logistical contexts. In this context, the long-standing member Stenkamp also turned to LogCoop after a long-standing client from the food sector approached the company with a tender. After reviewing the documents, LogCoop was involved in the tendering process by Stenkamp. In addition to designing a suitable logistics solution, it was necessary to find a property with approximately 30,000 square meters of warehouse space for its implementation.
Great Trust Bestowed
“That Stenkamp received the contract was the first milestone of this consulting project for us. After that, the work really began with the involvement in the implementation,” says Possekel. It was necessary to adapt the new location to the existing plans and coordinate it with the needs of the food retailer. Possekel: “Stenkamp has placed great trust in us and involved us in the further process.” LogCoop was involved in project management and supported the realization down to the smallest detail. This included, for example, the furnishing of office spaces or the implementation of the security concept, including the engagement of the security service. Another essential task of the logistics cooperation was to support personnel recruitment. LogCoop created and published job advertisements, evaluated applications, and accompanied the selection process. With great success, as Possekel emphasizes: “We received more than 250 applications and ultimately placed over 30 qualified and dedicated professionals from warehouse staff to operations managers.”
Demonstrated Overall Performance Capability
Stenkamp commenced its operational business in July 2020. At that time, the logistics service provider was already storing a large part of the goods on pallets for its customer. By March 1 of this year, the activities and volume were gradually expanded. Meanwhile, Stenkamp is responsible for the complete supply chain of goods handling and is utilizing the initially available warehouse capacities. “In this project, we have demonstrated our entire performance capability and involved further cooperation members and framework contract partners in the day-to-day business after winning the contract,” says Possekel. The successful management of such extensive projects involving its members is seen by the managing director as one of the core competencies of the logistics cooperation.
