Mar 28, 2021 at 11:53 AMWith the introduction of two new GPS trackers, PLT GmbH expands its offerings for transport and service companies. The particularly small GPS trackers can be installed in seconds in the vehicle and enable GPS monitoring of the entire fleet, even with frequently changing or short-term rented vehicles.
(Berlin) Digital fleet management and vehicle disposition are efficient when managed flexibly. Rigid structures give way to dynamic planning that is always precisely adapted to the current order situation. The vehicle telematics specialist PLT GmbH meets this trend with the introduction of a new generation of GPS trackers.
These can be plugged into the vehicle with a single motion and are immediately ready for use. The GPS tracker PLT Compact OBD mini is an evolution of the previous model. On the one hand, the device is now significantly smaller. This is particularly advantageous in vehicles where the OBD socket is hidden behind a cover or positioned in such a way that a conventionally sized OBD tracker would obstruct the driver’s footwell. On the other hand, the small module is capable of reading CAN bus data and transmitting, for example, the actual mileage and fuel level.
Simple Plug & Play Principle
The simple plug & play principle also applies to the second tracker that PLT presents this week. The PLT Compact Mobile NG is also plugged into the vehicle. However, it is not plugged into the OBD socket but into the 12V car socket. The tracker replaces the previously sold combination of OBD tracker and 12V adapter cable, which was mainly used in the construction sector.
Both new devices naturally also offer standard tracking functions. Precisely recorded data, including location, speed, and idle times, are evaluated in the TrackPilot portal in meaningful reports and statistics, such as the electronic logbook.
GPS Trackers Are Indispensable
GPS trackers are now indispensable in many sectors of the economy. More and more companies benefit from transparency and digital recording of mobile processes. The time of complicated solutions with external antennas, cable clutter, and elaborate installations in vehicles is long gone.
In connection with the conclusion of a TrackPilot usage contract, the devices can either be purchased or rented.
