First New Volvo FH Delivered to Johe Transport in Germany

The first truck delivered in Germany from the new Volvo FH model series goes to Johe Sensbachtal transport company in Hesse. The 6×4 timber transport truck complements the fleet of this long-time Volvo Trucks customer. The handover of the vehicle took place at Truckservice Bergstraße GmbH & Co. KG in Lorsch.

(Ismaning/Oberzent) “The new Volvo FH is a great addition to our fleet. It impresses not only with its technical capabilities but also with its design,” says Andreas Johe, managing director of Johe Sensbachtal, about the new vehicle. “We will set up the truck as a show truck,” Johe adds. The introduction of the new vehicles was originally planned for March 2020 but had to be postponed due to the pandemic. The company, based in Oberzent, Hesse, has been a customer of Volvo for over 30 years and is known in the region for its green timber trains. Currently, the company’s fleet consists exclusively of Volvo vehicles.

Both Rear Axles Driven

The vehicle was handed over in the company color turquoise green RAL6016 by Marius Ebert from the Volvo Trucks partner Tiropatrans Vertriebs GmbH from Speyer. A special feature of the vehicle is its engine. It is equipped with turbocompound technology, which provides 2856 Newton meters of torque and low fuel consumption. Both rear axles are driven for perfect traction. Another special feature is the long-distance driver’s cab Globetrotter XL with an interior standing height of 2.11 m.

Visually, the vehicle also shines with aesthetics and a completely new design: The front of the vehicle is fully painted, it has polished aluminum rims and wide tires on the front axle. The integrated camera on the passenger side facilitates monitoring of the blind spot and simultaneously shows the passenger area as well as parts of the vehicle front. The truck is also equipped with LED main headlights that feature adaptive high beams. This equipment is unique in the market. Other lights and headlights are also available in LED versions. Through the “My Truck App,” drivers have the ability to control the parking air conditioning and heating and check the fill levels.

Heating and Ventilation System for All Weather Conditions

The interior of the vehicle is designed in warm tones. It features dark leather seats that are suitable for all weather conditions with the help of a heating and ventilation system. The driver’s cab also includes two comfortable beds equipped with adjustable headrests. The integrated parking air conditioning and heating for the driver’s cab and engine ensure optimal temperature regulation. Inside, there are several storage compartments at the front and rear, as well as a freezer and refrigerator combination. The vehicle is also equipped with modern display technology. It features an LED color display with all necessary information on engine speeds, fuel levels, etc., and an LED touchscreen, a media system with a subwoofer, and connections for up to 8 cameras that can be used.
