April 2021EKB Container Logistik, provider of international container transport and its logistical services, has acquired 23.8 percent of the shares in TRIMODAL Logistik based in Bremen on April 1. TRIMODAL Logistik operates, among other things, a daily inland shipping shuttle between Bremen and Bremerhaven.
(Bremen) Other shareholders include NWL Norddeutsche Wasserweg Logistik, part of the Rhenus Group, and EUROGATE INTERMODAL. NWL Norddeutsche Wasserweg Logistik will hold 50.2 percent of the shares in TRIMODAL Logistik, while EUROGATE INTERMODAL will hold 26 percent. “We are pleased to have gained EKB Container Logistik as a long-term partner and see great potential to further improve our customer services – especially in the area of pre- and post-haulage of inland shipping transports,” says Tim Böttcher, Managing Director of TRIMODAL Logistik.
EKB Covers Entire Hamburg-Antwerp Range
The container logistics specialist EKB Container Logistik is the only company in the industry to cover the entire Hamburg-Antwerp range and its associated hinterland with ten locations. “In light of the increasing ecological demands from our customers, we are pleased to gradually expand our fleet of LNG trucks in conjunction with the inland shipping activities of TRIMODAL Logistik. The greens will thus become even greener,” say Reinhold Döhle and Holger Schulz, Managing Directors of EKB Container Logistik.Both companies aim to intensify their long-standing collaboration through this merger. The goal is to shift more containers from road to waterway.
