12. April 2021The Nuremberg drive and automation specialist Baumüller announces its cooperation with SESTO Robotics from Singapore. This strengthens Baumüller’s system and solution business through Baumüller Anlagen-Systemtechnik GmbH & Co. KG with autonomous mobile robots (AMR) for the agile manufacturing of the future.
(Nuremberg) AMR systems are flexible transport solutions for various application areas, such as intralogistics, machine loading, testing and diagnostics technology, as well as the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. The AMRs can be equipped with different structures up to 300 kg and increase productivity in manufacturing and logistics through shortened travel distances, faster transport times, and flexibility in the use of materials and tools. As an experienced system provider, Baumüller brings the know-how for the successful and seamless integration into the existing environment and the existing automation concept and realizes customer-specific setups.
Use in Clean Rooms
The AMRs are available with collaborative robots (Cobots) from various manufacturers, UV and ozone disinfection devices, scissor lift tables, intelligent shelving systems, and other individually realizable setups. Additionally, the AMRs are suitable for use in clean rooms of Class 100 and offer a battery life of 10 hours. If a configurable battery charge state is reached, the AMR autonomously drives to the charging station and requires a maximum of 3 hours for a full charge.
Baumüller distributes the self-driving and freely navigating vehicles throughout Europe. In the future, the AMRs will take over a large part of internal tasks and are an important component of a connected, automated, and intelligent industry. AMRs with mobile setups enable a flexibility and agility in the design of work processes that has not previously existed in the automation market. The AMRs will take over a large part of internal tasks in the future and represent a new dimension in the field of Industry 4.0. Baumüller thus expands its offering for the digitized and connected manufacturing of the future.
