13. April 2021Stephan Meyer and Kuno Neumeier establish the LOGIVISOR Institute GmbH in a joint venture. The aim is to create an exclusive network for industry and trade decision-makers to improve collaboration with logistics service providers. The company starts with a study in cooperation with WHU on contract logistics outsourcing.
(Munich) An exclusive network for decision-makers from trade or industry companies – Stephan Meyer, owner of Stephan Meyer Management Consulting, and Kuno Neumeier, CEO of the LOGIVEST Group, have founded the LOGIVISOR Institute GmbH, a joint venture aimed at significantly improving collaboration between industry and trade with logistics service providers.
The goal of the independent network is to create a foundation for open, cross-industry exchange of experiences and to jointly develop standards for collaboration with logistics service providers. Based on fairness, sustainability, and responsibility, the LOGIVISOR Institute sees itself as a driver and catalyst for an alliance of like-minded individuals who want to actively shape the future of service provider interaction – with a view to greater satisfaction on both sides.
Satisfaction Has Diminished
“We have observed that the collaboration between shippers and logistics service providers has lost satisfaction in recent years. With the LOGIVISOR Institute, we are now bringing together decision-makers from trade and industry to address this issue and develop solutions,” says Stephan Meyer. “Essentially, the LOGIVISOR Institute is an evolution of the insights we gained from the LogiVisor Award,” adds Kuno Neumeier.
In 2019, the award, initiated for the first time by Stephan Meyer and Logivest, saw a panel of experts from trade and industry honor the best German contract logistics providers in various categories. “The jury work of the LogiVisor Award clearly showed how different the criteria for evaluating logistics service providers are. With the institute, we are now creating a framework to develop new standards, but also to enter into a certain self-commitment of shippers regarding outsourcing. However, the focus is clearly on improving long-term collaboration,” says Neumeier.
Logivisor as a Synonym for Fundamentally New Collaboration
The term Logivisor, first coined with the award, is intended to serve as a synonym for a fundamentally new collaboration between logistics service providers and shippers. This idea has also been incorporated into the recently launched online platform www.logivisor.com, which quickly and easily connects customers from trade and industry with logistics service providers from all over Germany.
The independent LOGIVISOR Institute focuses on the transfer of qualified knowledge in the areas of outsourcing, insourcing, service provider changes, the development of concrete, practical content, and enabling unfiltered, confidential exchanges of experiences among decision-makers. To facilitate this, the LOGIVISOR Institute organizes in-person events, working groups, and initiatives for its members and offers the opportunity to further educate themselves on selected topics through the exclusive member area of the website.
Wide Target Group of Logistics Managers
“Our members shape the way logistics service providers will be worked with in their respective companies,” says Meyer. Therefore, the LOGIVISOR Institute targets a wide audience of operational and strategic logistics managers, supply chain managers, purchasing managers, production managers, board members, managing directors, and business developers.
As one of its first initiatives, the LOGIVISOR Institute, in collaboration with WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management, is conducting a study on satisfaction with existing contract logistics outsourcing. Initial results are expected to be available from June 2021.
About the LOGIVISOR Institute
Founded in 2020 in Munich, the LOGIVISOR Institute GmbH is an independent joint venture in the logistics market by managing partners Kuno Neumeier (CEO of the LOGIVEST Group, Munich) and Stephan Meyer (owner of Stephan Meyer Management Consulting, Greven). Emerging from the experiences of the LogiVisor Award, the two award initiators have implemented their ideas for creating standards and criteria with the institute. Thus, the exclusive network for representatives of trade or industry companies aims to optimize the trust relationship between logistics service providers and shippers based on fairness, sustainability, and responsibility. Through a constant confidential exchange of experiences and knowledge transfer among decision-makers from industry and trade, approaches for improving collaboration with logistics service providers are to be developed. The LOGIVISOR Institute is independent of the platform logivisor.com, which specializes in the mediation of logistics services.
