18. April 2021Online Future Conference “Hydrogen Location Northern Germany”
19. April 2021The transport logistic Online 2021 addresses all stakeholders in the logistics industry. Corona also presents new challenges for the logistics sector. Airplanes grounded, container congestion in Europe’s ports, global supply chains interrupted: how the industry is coping with this and what solutions are available is what the transport logistic Online provides answers to. The digital conference for logistics, mobility, IT, and supply chain management offers a unique overview of the current topics and challenges in the industry from May 4 to 6, 2021.
(Munich) Three days of knowledge transfer and networking: The transport logistic Online combines professional exchange with a digital trade fair atmosphere. Top speakers and global players illuminate the different facets of the topic Corona in keynotes, discussion rounds, and company sessions.
“Strategies after Corona: How much resilience does logistics need?” is the title of a discussion round organized by the German Transport Forum (DVF). It addresses the question of how supplier relationships and supply chains of the future must look and what contribution politics can make.
“Logistics after the crisis – How can companies manage risks properly?” – this expert session, organized by the international weekly newspaper “Verkehr”, brings together representatives from business and politics. They discuss strategies for greater independence from global influencing factors, as the Corona crisis has revealed how dependent Europe’s industry is on the flow of goods from Asia.
11th International Conference on Maritime Logistics mariLOG
The 11th international conference on maritime logistics – mariLOG deals with the relationship between carriers and their customers on the question:
“How can we fix what Corona has caused?” High-ranking company representatives discuss market power and freight rates versus contract fidelity and quality. Although the unmistakable atmosphere of a physical trade fair cannot be replicated: The transport logistic Online conference offers very tailored added value. The mission and motto of this industry event is reflected not least in the high-profile panel discussion “Strong through Change: What can we learn from the Corona pandemic for future crises?”
Panel participant Dr. Stephan Peters, CEO of the Rhenus Group, reports on dealing with the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic: “Even though the Covid-19 pandemic has massive impacts on global goods flows, we were able to take early measures to protect our employees and maintain our customers’ supply chains through continuous crisis management. The transport logistic Online provides the right framework for us to exchange our experiences in coping with the pandemic with other market participants.”
Exchange despite challenges is important
Dr. Clemens Först, CEO of ÖBB Rail Cargo Group, emphasizes the importance of the transport logistic Online: “The opportunity to exchange current challenges, developments, and trends in the form of an online expert conference despite the current regulations is an added value for the entire industry.” Given the multifaceted impacts of the Corona crisis on the logistics industry, Först recommends all his partners and customers to participate in the conference: “The extensive program offers visitors the opportunity to inform themselves about the various areas of the sector as well as the future of logistics and current trends.”
For Fedor Novikov, Marketing Director of the Volga-Dnepr Group, the air cargo Europe conference is one of the program highlights of the transport logistic Online: “Historically one of the core events of the logistics industry, which will provide an excellent overview of the market situation and gather important players even in virtual format. And then offers them the opportunity to share experiences with colleagues and provide an outlook for the coming year.” From Novikov’s perspective, Corona made the central role of the air freight industry visible: “Corona was an eye-opener for many people – they began to appreciate air freight more, understand its contribution and dependencies in the supply chains.”
Digitalization will increase efficiency in freight transport
Emile Hoogsteden, Vice President Commercial of the Port of Rotterdam Authority, also sees the transport logistic Online as an important tool to “stay connected. In these unprecedented times, motivation and inspiration are key, so let’s stay connected, inform ourselves, and be ahead. The fair in Munich has been the main event of the industry for years. Although it is unfortunate that it cannot take place in the usual form, there is no reason to stand still.” Colleague Matthijs van Doorn, Logistics Director of the Port of Rotterdam Authority, sees positive effects for the industry in the digitalization accelerated by the Covid-19 crisis. “Digitalization will significantly increase efficiency in freight transport. Furthermore, it will lead to better coordination between supply and demand in the industry and promote transparency within the various supply chains.”
Other TOP topics of the transport logistic Online include:
- New business models: platform economy, digital transformation
- Sustainability: alternative drives, optimization of the supply chain
