18. April 2021Fritz GmbH & Co. KG is now relying on the mobile telematics solution TISLOG from TIS for order management and route planning in local transport. In the first step, the system is set to replace the existing dispatch software before the 75 trucks operating in the CargoLine network are equipped with new mobile handheld scanners. The project is expected to be completed by spring 2021.
(Bocholt) “At TIS, we feel very well taken care of for the future and the further steps of digitization, and we are convinced not only by the solution but also by the fair and reliable communication,” says freight forwarding and project manager Christian Czemmel. With the changeover, Fritz aims to significantly simplify processes for drivers and dispatchers. With TISLOG, delivery and pickup orders can be processed in a single system, which previously required two separate solutions.
The drivers, who are predominantly employed by subcontractors, receive the orders on their mobile scanners of the type Zebra TC75, which will be equipped with the telematics app developed by TIS as part of the project. This guides the drivers through the entire pickup and delivery process, from navigation to paperless delivery receipts.
Reducing driven kilometers
Furthermore, the optimized route planning is expected to reduce the number of kilometers driven per delivery point by eight to ten percent. “With TISLOG, we will further improve the CO2 emissions per shipment,” expects Czemmel, whose company is strongly committed to environmental protection. The Fritz Group was also involved in the certification for calculating the CO2 footprint per shipment based on the standard DIN EN 16258-2013-03 published since March 2013.
