April 2021The Geis Group has once again concluded the past business year positively despite the Covid-19 pandemic: In 2020, the internationally active logistics service provider achieved a net revenue of 1,002.6 million euros. Adjusted for the sale of the parcel division in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, this results in a revenue increase of 4.7 percent.
(Bad Neustadt / Nuremberg) “We look back on a successful business year 2020,” say the managing partners Hans-Georg Geis and Wolfgang Geis. “We are very satisfied with both the development of revenue and results.”
Although the revenue of the Geis Group decreased slightly by 3.3 percent compared to 2019, the company sold its parcel services in the Czech Republic and Slovakia at the turn of the year 2019/2020. Adjusted for this effect, Geis achieved a revenue increase of 4.7 percent.
Growth Driver Air Freight
The main growth drivers were air freight with imports of hygiene and protective materials as well as the entire B2C sector. The number of transport and logistics orders processed at the 127 Geis locations across Europe increased by 8.3 percent to 10.64 million in 2020. The transported tonnage decreased by 3.1 percent to 5.87 million tons.
“Thanks to the great commitment of our 6,100 employees, we have been able to manage the impacts of the pandemic significantly better than expected,” explain Hans-Wolfgang Geis and Jochen Geis, managing directors of Geis Holding. “In this context, we are confident that we can achieve results at a stable level in the ongoing business year 2021.”
