8. May 2021Soloplan and Imperial Logistics Deepen Their Partnership
8. May 2021The current most important development at the machinery manufacturer BULMOR in Upper Austria is the advancement of the EQ electric side loader. This marks the emergence of a new generation of energy efficiency in heavy-duty transport. The introduction of the device is scheduled for autumn 2021, which will then be among the strongest side loaders on the market.
(Perg) Building on the proven electric concept from BULMOR, the company will launch a new generation of the electric series with a lifting capacity of 5 to 12 tons in autumn 2021. Ongoing tests and market comparisons show that these forklifts will rank among the strongest electric side loaders in the world in terms of performance. The company’s internal development department had a clearly defined goal: to achieve class-leading performance improvements in energy efficiency, speed, and power. Customer tests now show that this goal has been achieved.
Market-leading new electric motors, a new battery management system, and selectable driving modes make the EQ 50 – 80 a highly efficient heavy-duty forklift, which uniquely withstands a 3-shift operation with short charging cycles during breaks, powered by a single battery.
New Integrated Battery Management System
The newly integrated battery management system, which monitors the charging and discharging of the battery, ensures optimal use of the available residual energy in the battery. Deep discharges are prevented by this battery balancing, fully utilizing the battery capacity. This provides the EQ with optimal energy consumption with up to 15% longer operating cycles.
Another efficiency increase is achieved through the new driving mode system of the EQ side loader. With the push of a button, the forklift can switch to the driving mode suitable for the respective application. Unique speed and performance are the result of numerous development steps that the new electric side loader underwent at BULMOR. Now, the setting between the latest motor technology and power control is perfectly coordinated. Thus, a fully loaded BULMOR EQ achieves a lifting speed of up to 38 m/s – a peak value. Without load, tests show a maximum lifting speed of 0.42 m/s.
Amortization from approx. 2,000 Operating Hours
This increased performance is also reflected in the value of the climbing ability. With load, it exceeds 20 percent – without load, the machine achieves a climbing ability of up to 35%. The new EQ side loader is also equipped for the latest BULMOR CONNECT system – a forward-looking remote maintenance module for quick diagnosis and accurate troubleshooting, with additional options including fleet management.
The EQ side loader is an investment in internal logistics that pays off due to high operational efficiency, low maintenance costs, and long service life, amortizing from approximately 2,000 operating hours.
