12. May 2021sennder brings the entire Cars&Cargo fleet of 240 chartered vehicles onto its digital platform sennOS, thereby strengthening its offering. With the acquisition of Cars&Cargo, commercial shippers in France, Germany, and the Benelux region can flexibly rely on guaranteed capacities. sennder continues to consider strategic acquisitions to further expand and strengthen its existing offering in Europe.
(Berlin) sennder, Europe’s leading digital freight forwarder, announced today the acquisition of the Dutch freight company Cars&Cargo, which operates in France and Benelux. As part of the strategic acquisition, the fleet of 240 trucks from Cars&Cargo will be integrated into sennOS to expand capacities and benefit from the transparency and efficiency advantages of the sennder operating system.
By connecting the fleet to sennder’s network, further important synergies are created: commercial shippers and freight carriers in Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg will gain access to increased capacities and the premium service of Cars&Cargo. The fleet will be fully digitized and embedded in sennder’s technology, enabling digital fleet management, route optimization, and a seamless onboarding process.
Name Remains Temporarily
The acquisition is another building block in sennder’s strategy to strengthen and continuously develop its existing offering for commercial shippers and freight carriers through targeted partnerships and acquisitions. Cars&Cargo will initially continue to operate under its existing name. The Cars&Cargo team will be integrated into sennder’s organization, and Bob Snijder, founder and managing director of Cars&Cargo, will continue to lead the business as General Manager.

David Nothacker, co-founder and CEO of sennder, says: “sennder is continuing on a remarkable growth trajectory, further solidifying our position as Europe’s leading digital freight forwarder – high-profile acquisitions are an important part of our strategy. In 2021, we will focus primarily on enhancing our existing offering for freight carriers and commercial shippers; the acquisition of Cars&Cargo contributes to this goal. We look forward to digitizing the existing fleet with the experienced team at Cars&Cargo and providing access to a premium service offering in Benelux, the German, and the French markets.”
A New Digital Offering
Both companies provide commercial shippers access to smaller and medium-sized transport companies. Cars&Cargo has a chartered fleet of 240 trucks that transport more than 43,000 loads per year. Commercial shippers thus gain access to a premium service that meets the highest service standards and flexibly adapts to the needs of freight carriers and commercial shippers: capacities can be provided on request, allowing for immediate implementation of various ad-hoc requests.
sennder’s mission is to prepare the logistics industry for a sustainable future: through the acquisition, Cars&Cargo will be able to increase the efficiency of its truck fleet and benefit from greater transparency in the transport process. sennder will maintain the leasing contracts with freight carriers and will continue not to have its own trucks in its fleet.
The acquisition follows the announcement of strategic partnerships between Michelin and Zeitfracht, the acquisition of Uber Freight’s European freight business, and the French competitor Everoad, as well as a joint venture with Poste Italiane.
Bob Snijder, managing director and founder of Cars&Cargo, says: “I look forward to integrating our trucks into sennder’s operating system, sennOS. We share sennder’s vision of preparing the logistics industry for a sustainable future – digitizing our fleet contributes to this common goal. Together with sennder, we offer the industry extensive access to capacities that are digitally optimized and thus transported as efficiently as possible. This is an exciting offering for the industry.”
