19. May 2021Rhenus Archive Services, expert in the storage of sensitive business documents in secure archives, has acquired the archive services of Simplepaper Archive Management based in Munich as of May 1, 2021. In addition to document storage, the service also includes scan-on-demand of documents from the files as well as document destruction.
(Holzwickede/Munich) Evolved from the company Rainer Förster Aktenservice, managing director and sole shareholder Nazmi Sahintürk has been operating the archive service provider Simplepaper since 2009. At two locations in Munich and Garching, Simplepaper offers physical and digital storage of business documents. The service offering also includes services for outsourcing business processes.
Rhenus Archive Services takes over several hundred customer contracts and a very large file inventory. “We are very happy to welcome the customers and in the future have the opportunity to offer the customer base all services of the Rhenus Office Systems Group related to physical and digital document and information logistics in addition to archiving,” says Jens Kumbrink, managing director of Rhenus Office Systems.
Market Consolidation Continues
Till-Martin Schuldt, managing director of Rhenus Archive Services, adds: “With this acquisition, the trend of market consolidation continues, which has arisen due to the increasing digitization of business processes. Smaller archive service providers are increasingly considering selling their physical archives because the decline in business is now noticeable. Without the addition of a sustainable digital business model, physical storage of documents is often no longer sufficient.”
“At Simplepaper, we have decided to focus on our strength in specialized solutions in the digital environment in the future. With Rhenus Archive Services, we have found a solid buyer where our previous archive customers will be very well taken care of. We were impressed that Rhenus, as a family-owned company, operates very customer-oriented and is able to provide the service, which is designed for many years due to legal retention periods, really long-term and continuously expand it through innovative developments,” comments Nazmi Sahintürk, managing director and sole shareholder of Simplepaper Archive Management, on the transition.
Rhenus Archive Services is active beyond Germany in several European countries and operates a network of 24 secure archive locations in Europe, certified according to ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 27001 (Information Security), and GLP (Good Laboratory Practice).
