19. May 2021The mobility service provider DKV is entering into a partnership with the Nordic energy supplier Gasum. DKV is expanding its LNG and CNG supply network in Finland and Sweden. The expansion involves 25 LNG and 34 CNG filling stations. The number of LNG-powered trucks in Europe is expected to steadily increase.
(Ratingen) As of now, the gas filling station network of Gasum in Finland and Sweden is also available to DKV customers. Gasum and DKV have signed an agreement to expand the DKV supply network by 25 LNG and 34 CNG filling stations. This will grow the DKV supply network to 168 LNG stations and 1,788 CNG stations across Europe. Currently, Gasum’s supply network consists of around 100 gas filling stations – including LNG stations for heavy-duty vehicles – in Finland, Sweden, and Norway. Several thousand LNG-powered trucks are already in operation in Europe, and their numbers are expected to continue to rise.
First brand-independent card provider
“We are pleased to offer an important player in Central Europe further flexibility and options by accepting DKV Cards at Gasum filling stations. This is part of the development of the gas vehicle market and supports our goal of connecting the Nordic and Central European markets and enabling low-emission logistics for international players in Northern Europe,” says Juho Kurra, Business Development Manager, Traffic at Gasum. Marco van Kalleveen, CEO of DKV Mobility, adds: “We are excited to be the first brand-independent card provider at GASUM in Finland and Sweden, as this aligns perfectly with our company’s goal – to be ‘Lead in Green’.” In February 2020, DKV Mobility announced its aim to become climate-positive by 2023 for its own operations and to increasingly offer sustainable mobility solutions to its customers to reduce the carbon intensity of their fleets by 30 percent by 2030. The locations of the Gasum stations are listed on the websites of DKV and Gasum as well as in the DKV APP.
